The Andrew Cronin Brass Bursary

In pursuance of creating a lasting memorial to Andrew Cronin, who taught at Orwell Park for 24 years, we are thrilled, as well as honoured, that former pupil Andrew Holford (1950-1954) has chosen to make a very generous donation. Andrew is a longlife trumpeter, based in Paris and London, whose musical career began when Brian Belle thrust a bugle into his hand and told him to a cornet, the donation which will pay for music tutition fees has kick-started a Brass Bursary, the purpose of which will be to identify and nurture potentially excellent brass players, through this provision of lessons and the use of a fine instrument.
