Your Child's Future

Moving to the Prep School

Although the move to the Prep School is a big step for the children of Pre Prep 2 we take certain steps towards making it as trouble free and as easy as we can for both parents and children.  In the autumn term of your child’s final year an information meeting is held with staff from Form I  and other relevant areas of the Prep School.  Parents are encouraged to take another tour of the facilities and to ask questions concerning their child’s transition into Form I.

The children are already familiar with the Prep School facilities through links in the curriculum and activities with Prep School staff.  A Form I member of staff accompanies them on an annual Pirate Day trip to Thorpeness Mere, and an induction afternoon is set aside in the summer term for the children to meet their new teacher and see their classroom.

A handover meeting is held between the Pre Prep 2 and Form I teachers and the Learning Support staff at the end of the summer term, to discuss the children and their strengths and weaknesses.
