100% Common Entrance Success 2009
Outstanding facilities include 110 acres of playing fields, gardens and grounds; specialist rooms for the teaching of Art, Design Technology, and I.T. In these last subjects, many pupils win scholarships and awards to their senior schools.
Opportunities for sport abound for both boys and girls. Orwell Park has a full fixture list in major sports including soccer, rugby, hockey, cricket for boys; netball, hockey and rounders for girls. Athletics, swimming and cross country are extremely popular as are individual sports such as badminton and squash.
Music is a strength of Orwell Park. Tuition is available from specialist teachers on most instruments and there are many opportunities for boys and girls to perform in concerts, both formal and informal. Orwell Park also has an excellent tradition for Drama. Over the years productions have included “Oliver”, “Joseph and his Technicolor Dreamcoat”, “The Wind in the Willows” and “Bugsy Malone” - all of them thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated by pupils, parents and staff.
I am confident that parents who come and see us will be impressed not only by our beautiful buildings, grounds and facilities but also the quality of care and relationships between teachers and their pupils. Pastoral care is truly a strength of Orwell Park.
Rowland Constantine, Headmaster.
