Sylvia Belle’s association with the School lasted her entire lifetime.  She was the grand-daughter of the founder of the predecessor schools of Aldeburgh Lodge and Orwell Park, her father was Headmaster at the time of her birth and her husband, Brian Belle, was joint Headmaster until 1969, becoming sole Headmaster until his retirement in 1979.  The School was fortunate to see regularly both Sylvia and Brian in their retirement living in the Buck House in the grounds and supporting many school events.
