Every year we hold a Memorial for the Desert Rats who were stationed here at Orwell Park during the second World War. The service commemorates the time in May 1944 when the Desert Rats moved to Orwell Park School, before sailing from Felixstowe to Normandy, landing on Gold Beach on the 6th June 1944.

We were delighted to invite Old Orwellian to join us for our Desert Rats Memorial Service this year, and afterwards for lunch in the Orangery.

Please arrive for tea and coffee at 11:30am. There will be a short service at 12 noon led by the school Chaplain, Father John, and then drinks will be served at 12:30pm.

The cost of lunch is £25.
